The Supreme Court, er, should we say -- a military-run "Supreme Court" (?) -- is now totally out of the control which the almighty Left had historically wielded over even some of its "conservative" members. It's like there are now six Clarence Thomases handing down these astonishing, "controversial" and unexpected 6-3 rulings.
Last Thursday, the "Supreme Court" struck down New York State's gun law prohibiting concealed carry. On Friday, Roe vs Wade was killed (still can't believe that one!) -- and now, Clarence x 6 has restored the right of a High School football coach to lead voluntary prayers on the field. Can restoration of prayer in the schools be restored soon -- at least voluntary prayers? God is pleased --- and if stuff like this keeps up, He may yet bestow blessings on a undeserving nation that had turned its back on Natural / Divine law.
The details of this story, previously unknown to The Anti-New York Times, really show just how ugly, hateful and repugnant libtards truly are. In 2015, after the School Board in Bremerton Washington had learned that Coach Kennedy was conducting VOLUNTARY prayers at the end of his games (oh the horror!), the school board instructed him not to pray if it involved students. When a school official recommended that the coach’s contract not be renewed for the 2016 season, Kennedy did not reapply for the position. In essence, he was fired for praying with players. Now had he been counseling the boys to mutilate their genitals and wear mini-skirts, it would have been fine, you see. But giving thanks to the Creator -- no way! That's "illegal," dontcha know?
In 2000, SCOTUS ruled that organized prayers led by students at high school football games violated the First Amendment’s prohibition of government establishment of religion. Ironically, the ruling itself is what violated the First Amendment! The SC Justice who wrote the majority opinion in 2000 was a "conservative" named John Paul Stevens - who had been placed on the court in 1975 by the former Warren Commission and Trilateral Commission member Gerald Ford. Stevens wrote:
“The delivery of a pregame prayer has the improper effect of coercing those present to participate in an act of religious worship.”
Those were the days when "moderate" to "conservative" justices would often side with the ACLU commies not so much out of ideological agreement, but mainly to preserve or enhance their status within the "cool kids club" that is Washington DC swamp culture. The social and media pressure on Republican judges (and Congressmen / Senators) to "moderate" has broken many a man who had once been "conservative" before being immersed in the DC Swamp. Justices Gorsuch, Kavanaugh & Barrett had also appeared to be heading toward the mushy "middle" of Chief Justice Roberts -- leaving only Thomas and Alito on the true constitutional right wing "fringe." Not any more. We are all Clarence Thomas now.
Let's see what the next pleasant surprise from Papa Clarence and the "Supremes" will be.
Tell it, Clarence. Tell it!
Boobus Americanus 1: I read in the New York Times today that the Supreme Court ruled that it is legal for High School coaches to lead voluntary prayers after games.
Boobus Americanus 2: The court has been very active and right wing lately. It's like Clarence Thomas has taken over from Judge Roberts.
