REBUTTAL BY
One of the most recognizable liar's tricks which a properly accused criminal will often resort to is the tactic of actually repeating all of the accusations made against him in a dismissive manner which appeals to incredulity of the listener. It's sort of like a "Straw Man" argument, but not exactly because in such cases, the pathological liar will actually recite a litany of absolute truths -- instead of absurd falsehoods. The deception lurks in the manner of delivery --- in which he hopes to induce his target into interpreting the absolutely true accusations leveled against him as absurdities. The simple-minded mark will often fall for this maneuver because he "reasons" that the accused -- by mere virtue of the fact that he volunteered the allegations against himself on his own -- must be truthfully defending himself against false testimony.
Surely, "youse guys" have all "been around the block" enough times to have personally experienced this form of "gaslighting" from some psychopath you have crossed paths with; and we all know what the New York Slimes is about. Armed with the knowledge of such "reverse psychology" deception tactics, we can properly "decode" this particular Slimes article by Putin-hater Steven Lee Meyers (cough cough) for what it truly represents --- an actual CONFESSION regarding the situation in Ukraine.
Surely, "youse guys" have all "been around the block" enough times to have personally experienced this form of "gaslighting" from some psychopath you have crossed paths with; and we all know what the New York Slimes is about. Armed with the knowledge of such "reverse psychology" deception tactics, we can properly "decode" this particular Slimes article by Putin-hater Steven Lee Meyers (cough cough) for what it truly represents --- an actual CONFESSION regarding the situation in Ukraine.

Embedded Truth: Drugged-up ultra-nationalists are killing innocent Russian-speaking civilians and US-funded bio-weapons labs have been uncovered in Ukraine.
Slimes: Ukrainian forces bombing their own cities, including theaters sheltering children.

.Slimes: That has given Russia — and its allies in China and elsewhere — powerful means to prop up the claim that the invasion is justified,

Slimes: President Vladimir V. Putin has created an alternative reality in which Russia is at war not with Ukraine but with a larger, more pernicious enemy in the West.
